State Research Institute of Building
Constructions (NDIBK) was founded in November 1943 on the base of the Ukrainian
Research Institute of Buildings (UkrNDIS). It is the most oldest research center
of construction industry in Ukraine.
The institute has more than 500 employees including 7 Doctors,
68 Kandidat Nauk and also more than 300 employees with nigh education degrees.
In the institute the Specialized Board awarding degrees of Kandidat Tehnicheskih
Nauk in the following fields:
* "· Building structures, buildings and structures"
* "· Bases and foundations".
NDIBK is approved as a leading research
organization in Ukraine in the following research fields:
*· Building structures and their production technologies for buildings and structures for civil, industrial and agricultural purpose in conventional and severe geotechnical conditions
under seismic and dynamic impacts;
* · Moveable structures;
*· Basements, foundations, soils mechanics, underground structures and
geotechnical protection means;
* · Building mechanics of buildings and structures in different geotechnical conditions;
*· Building acoustic and thermal technology;
*· Methods and means of study of building structures including automation systems, tools, equipment.

NDIBK is
certified as an expert organization
in Ukrainian nuclear industry on the following directions:
* strength, strain, evaluation of building structures and bases and foundations;
* investigations and testing and control of building structures quality;
* systems of automated control of building structures quality;
* building structures certification.
NDIBK holds Ukrainian and Russian State licenses with the right to
execute special kinds of works in design and construction

The main directions of the institute activity:

scientific grounding of the directions of technological progress in construction for various industries of
the economy including those of building objects of nuclear industry;

research works on providing appropriate technical and functional properties of buildings
and structures;
*
development of theory, methods and programs of computation and optimum designing
of building structures, technologies of their production for various construction fields
(industrial, residential, agricultural, civil, transportation, power, mine, gas and oil-gas production)
including those with use of highly effective materials and products,
production of experimental samples and small parties of building structures, sales and assembling;
* development of new types of structures and structural systems including structures and
structural systems for movable buildings and structures;

* optimization of the methods of preparation of bases and structural solutions for buildings foundations and
buildings according to concrete construction conditions;
*development of structural solutions and means of protection, methods
and programs of calculation of buildings and structures, engineering protection of areas in

* development of the methods and equipment for regaining functional
properties of buildings and structures including leveling of inclinations appeared
during erection, operation, areas development
and during other impacts of natural or man-made nature;

coordination and implementation of works on avoiding accidents at building
objects and liquidation of consequences of emergencies;

technical equipment for construction production;

*expertise and preparation of the conclusions on abilities of participants of investing

of computation of buildings and structures in severe engineering geological and seismic conditions,
