In direction of “Buildings and facilities energy efficiency” the institute solves the following problems:
- examination of thermal-insulation building envelope. Recommendations to reduce heat loss;
- preparation of project section “energy efficiency”;
- calculation and preparation of buildings energy performance certification;
- creation of two- and three-dimensional temperature fields during the thermal enclosure structure calculations
- covers examination;
- assessment of enclosure structure humidity conditions
- determination of operating translucent structures characteristics;
- development of normative base on energy efficiency and acoustic problems for harmonization of national legislative and normative documents with EU directive and standard requirements;
- development of building products certification and marking by energy efficiency characteristics to insure the differentiation of leading manufacturer products with its further introduction in construction.
The institute cooperates with a lot of leading design and building organizations and clients in the sphere of energy efficiency. Co-activities and development of cooperation with organizations from Germany, USA, Belorussia and other countries are planned.
DBN “Thermal building insulation” and other normative documents are developed, work for Branch program of building energy efficiency improvement for 2010-2014 approved by order No.257 of Ministry of construction dated on 30.06.2009 began.
It is planned to develop the building certification system by indicators of thermal comfort, energy efficiency, protection against noise, natural and artificial lighting and ecology considering the world experience of green construction.
Works on structures and buildings energy efficiency improvement are performed by the following departments:
- Department of building physics and efficient use of resources
- Laboratory of construction heat engineering and energy saving
