Building structures – research and designing of the new building structures (structural schemes, elements, joints and materials)

Institute is elaborating the theory of reinforced concrete taking into account the new materials, structural solutions and technologies, improvement of seismicity assessment, reliability and durability of the reinforced concrete structures under dynamic alternate and specific actions.

Institute (as basic organization of Minregion of Ukraine) is considering the following scientific and technical issues:

· designing of the new structures and products of concrete , reinforced concrete and steel-concrete taking into account the new Norms and European Codes;

· research of the properties of the following enclosing structures: masonry and reinforced masonry, asbestos-cement, wooden etc. for application in housing and industrial construction including the mobile structures and buildings facilities of prompt erection;

· development of typical structures and design documentation for mass application;

· reconstruction and restoration of the buildings and facilities including the history and architecture monuments;

· creation of the energy effective technologies by means of effective admixtures for concretes and research of properties of concrete and cement structures on base of advanced admixtures;

· assessment of conformity of the products and structures to modern standards taking into account the European Codes.

Institute researches the special sort concretes for building structures, including the HPC of С60/70 – С120/150 grades with specification of the rational fields of their using; Institute develops the new effective precast-monolithic, precast and monolithic reinforced concrete structures.

Nearest time Institute plans to develop the combined structures with using of volumetric reinforced concrete blocks for erection of small architecture structures with perspective of their production on existing power of experimental base of Institute.

• Department of industrial stationary and mobile buildings and facility of metal structures

• Department for research of buildings and facility state under dangerous geological processes

• Building structures safety Department

• Department of enclosing structures for buildings and facility

• Department of the technologies for reinforced structures production
